The Independence Council for Economic Development recently elected new leadership for the coming year as part of their July Board of Directors meeting.

The following were selected to serve in elected positions on the Board:

Chairman: Bill Moore (King Hershey Law Firm)

Vice Chairman: Dr. Jim Hinson (Independence School District)

Secretary: Marcy Anderson (Walton Construction)

Treasurer: Jim Schultz (City of Independence)

Four new members were also elected as at-large members of the Board of Directors. Those included:

David Kyle (Blue Ridge Bank)

David Long (Heartland Business Capital)

Jan Kennedy (HarenLaughlin Construction)

Steve Hunter (TeamBank)

The Independence Council for Economic Development is a public/private partnership involving the City of Independence, local school districts and over 60 private sector companies.
